As the crisis rocking Edo State politics deepens, Governor Godwin Obaseki has renamed a street formerly known as Adams Oshiomole Crescent after the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Friday.
The governor renamed the street in Auchi, Edo State, from Adams Oshiomole Crescent to Bukola Saraki Boulevard.

Governor Obaseki on Friday joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has wasted no time in warming himself to his new political party and their leaders.
Obaseki is seeking re-election on the platform of the PDP after the All Progressives Congress (APC) disqualified him from seeking a second term.
The Edo State governor and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole, have been at war with both individuals refusing to sheath their swords as the state’s gubernatorial election draws near.
Oshiomhole, the embattled national chairman of the ruling party has ensured that Obaseki will not be elected on the platform of the APC as he picked the aspirant of the PDP during the 2016 gubernatorial election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, to succeed the incumbent governor.
Reactions have, however, trailed the renaming of the street after Bukola Saraki, who is described as a sworn political enemy of the Oshiomhole.
Some observers faulted the move by the governor saying that it is an insult to the people of Etsako; a part of the state where Oshiomhole hails from.
Godwin Obaseki just insulted the Etsako people, by renaming a road built by Adams Oshiomohle in Edo North to Bukola Saraki. Not to worry, stupidity has a breaking point and it surely break. I know its Philip Shuabu that gave him the idea.

Meanwhile, others supported the move by the governor claiming the Oshiomhole, while serving as a governor, made the same move on the late Tony Anenih.
