An election petition tribunal sitting in Minna the Niger State capital has upheld the electoral victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) member representing Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Sani Musa, in the March National Assembly election.
The tribunal in its verdict yesterday dismissed the petition filed by his opponent at the poll, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ibrahim Isiyaku, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party at the poll.
Reacting to the development in a statement on Wednesday, Musa described the tribunal’s verdict as a victory for democracy.
The Senator said, “I want to appreciate the Election Petition Tribunal for the judgment rendered in the Niger East Election Petition and the commitment to upholding justice.

“I would also like to express my appreciation to my dear brother Ibrahim Isiaku SAN for pursuing the case with dignity and civility. Your dedication to the legal process is commendable.
