The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has provided an explanation for the delay in the payment of June allowances to corps members, stating that the issue lies with the banks. The NYSC completed all necessary arrangements for the payment on June 27, but the banks have yet to credit the accounts of corps members.
In a statement released by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, the NYSC assured corps members that the management is actively engaging with the banks to expedite the payment process.

Megwa clarified, “The delay being currently experienced is due to the administration of funds by various banks who are yet to credit Corps Members’ accounts.”
He urged corps members to remain calm, law-abiding, and committed to their national service responsibilities. The NYSC reiterated its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of corps members and assured that efforts are being made to resolve the payment delay promptly.
Corps members are advised to stay patient and trust that their allowances will be disbursed without further delay.
