The suspected murder of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of prominent music singer Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, has sparked outrage.
The facts underlying Ifeanyi’s death were still unknown at the time this article was filed. Unconfirmed rumors, however, said that Davido’s first kid drowned in a swimming pool at his home in Lagos State’s Banana Island neighborhood.
After being retrieved from the swimming pool, the three-year-old boy was allegedly brought to a hospital in the state’s Lekki district, where he was certified dead by one of the physicians on duty.
As of the time this story was released, the victim’s family had not to respond to the unfortunate event.
However, since the supposed death of Ifeanyi became public knowledge, Nigerians, particularly entertainment fans, have been enraged and traumatized by the news.
Several celebrities have written cryptic statements that appear to corroborate Ifeanyi’s death. Among them are comedians Ayo Makun and Lasisi Elenu, as well as radio personality Daddy Freeze.
Makun, in an Instagram post early Tuesday, wrote, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”
Daddy Freeze, who went live on Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning said, “When the person you love is someone involved it becomes a heavy emotional burden. I am not confirming anything but bear with me I will not be live tonight.”
Lasisi Elenu also posted, “Father heal your children’s heart from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord.”
Reality TV star and actress, Rosemary Afuwape, said on her Instagram story, “My heart can’t take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss.”
The supposed death of Ifeanyi was the highest popular subject on Twitter at 1.28 a.m. The claimed death, on the other hand, came from a now-deleted post by actress Eniola Badmus late Monday.
Nigerians responded to Badmus’ article by criticizing her for revealing such sensitive information to the public.
