The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, has commended the Alpha May Club and its leadership for being a rallying point for Itsekiri professionals in Lagos in supporting developments activities back home with some laudable initiatives.
Addressing the monarch Brig. Gen. Emico Eruwa (Rtd), Chairman, Alpha May Club, who led the executive and members of the club on a courtesy visit to the Palace, said: “the visit, first is to congratulate Your Majesty on your ascension to the pristine throne of our great Kingdom as its twenty-first Olu. Your coronation, which has been lauded worldwide by all and sundry, has brought immense pride to all Itsekiri.” Continuing, the chairman said some of notable initiatives advanced by the club in the recent past were the Itsekiri Vision 2030 and the Itsekiri Trust Fund, which is being driven by notable Itsekiri sons and daughters.
Furthermore, the vice-chairman, Mr Nelson Eyituoyo Wilbert, went on to appraise Ogiame of the future strategic plans of the club, which included, amongst others, to further open up the club membership to the teeming demography of young, achieving Itsekiri professionals, as well as initiating strategic projects in Warri Kingdom in lockstep with Ogiame’s pronouncements for the Kingdom.
Mr Lawrence Anirejuoritse Wilbert, a member, further spoke to the success of the Itsekiri Health Insurance Program (IHIP), an initiative of the Itsekiri Trust Fund (ITF), which has hundreds of Itsekiri, currently registered, with access to free private health care, sponsored by partners drawn from notable Itsekiri groups and personalities worldwide.
Alpha May Club is an Association of Itsekiri male professional. The Club was established in May 1984 and currently has an active membership strength of fifty members.
