Former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday, has praised his family for the manner of love showered on him as he adds another year.
Taking to social media, Jonathan, who served as Vice President to the late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, said:
My family has been an integral part of my life’s journey, they have been my strength and a source of my success. This morning they did something unusual, from all corners of the town they assembled in my home offering prayers and thanksgiving to God for the gift of life.

Meanwhile, encomiums have been showered on the former Bayelsa Governor who has been described by many Nigerians as a true democrat, following the outcome of the 2015 election.
Jonathan endeared himself to the global community when, as an incumbent, he conceded defeat, before the final tabulation of results, to President Muhammadu Buhari in a keenly contested presidential poll.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, took his twitter page to describe Jonathan as a great patriot who served his country diligently.
His tweet read:
A very happy 63rd birthday to Dr @GEJonathan, our former president and a great patriot. On behalf of my family, I wish you continued good health, long life and continued service to God, country and humanity.
On their part, the Northern Governors Forum lauded him for serving Nigeria with zeal and commitment.

He said Jonathan’s passion for the growth of democracy was reflected not only in his records in office, but also in his current international engagements.
He said:
He has successfully monitored elections in many countries and has also engaged with stakeholders.
Lalong commended the former president for his patriotism and dedication to the unity, peace and development of Nigeria as well as offering counsel on various national issues.
The Plateau Governor further urged him to remain focused in his service which has brought honour and goodwill to Nigeria, while wishing him many more years of good health, peace and happiness.
