The gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections have been rescheduled for March 18 by the Independent and National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Formerly, the elections were slated for this Saturday, March 11.

The commission had persuaded the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal to modify its order granting Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party permission to inspect election materials on the grounds that it needed to reconfigure the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) for the polls this Saturday.
The reconfiguration is expected to take at least five days, but INEC lawyer Tanimu Inuwa told reporters that the commission does not mind employing extra people to carry it out.
