In order to allow Nigerians to participate in Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has stopped rail operations throughout the nation.
According to a statement released by the NRC on Wednesday, the temporary stoppage of train services will take place from February 25 to February 27, 2023.
The Abuja-Kaduna, Warri-Itakpe, Lagos-Ibadan, and Iddo Lagos-Ijoko train services are among those whose services have been halted, according to the statement signed by Yakub Mahmood, the Corporation’s deputy director of public relations.
“However, the management assures the general public of the normal train services recommencement on Tuesday 28th February, 2023,” the statement added.
Train services have been suspended in parts of the country in the last one year after attacks and derailment.
