The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Jersey State Police have launched a joint investigation into the murder of Republican Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour.
On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, Dwumfour was shot dead in front of her home in New Jersey, United States of America. She was claimed to be the wife of Eze Kings, a Nigerian preacher.
Dwumfour, 30, was reportedly attacked by an unidentified offender while driving in her neighborhood. Her white Nissan SUV collided with two parked automobiles before coming to a stop.
A male witness, who requested anonymity, stated that her automobile was hit with roughly 12 rounds while driving along Check Avenue toward Samuel Circle around 7.15 p.m. The car ultimately came to a halt after crashing into two parked cars, including the witness’ black Lexus GS350.
Chilling Snapchat footage of the aftermath of the incident showed Dwumfour’s body in the car while first responders surrounded the scene.
The witness said, “It took a second before I realised there was a dead body behind the wheel.
“She was slumped over the wheel with a black hoodie with brown fur covering her head; her hands were down by her side. There was one bullet hole in the passenger door and a bunch of bullet holes in the driver’s door. Some other neighbours said they saw someone running away with a mask on.”
Meanwhile, CBS News reported that the FBI joined the police in their search for individuals guilty for Dwumfour’s killing on Friday.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office allegedly searched the woods behind the La Mur complex for clues.
On Thursday afternoon, 20 Sayreville police officers were seen searching the sides of a Garden State Parkway off ramp heading into the Jon Bon Jovi Service area.
Shortly after, detectives at the crime site told reporters that Dwumfour was seen on camera conversing to the shooter only seconds before she was killed.
Dwumfour was a Certified Business Analyst and Scrum Professional for Fire Congress Fellowship Inc.
She also served as a Director of Churches for the Nigerian-based Champions Royal Assembly, according to her LinkedIn page, which touted her “bubbly personality, and strong work ethics.”
