Following a four-week search for a missing Nigerian mother from Bexley, the United Kingdom’s (UK) Metropolitan Police have discovered a woman’s body in a lake in Kent.
The police have been actively looking for Taiwo Balogun, 53, since she was last seen in a store on Crayford Road, Bexley, at around 2:27 p.m. on December 1.
She was reported as being 5ft 9ins tall and was last seen wearing a black jacket with vertical stripes down the sleeves, dark pants, and black and white sneakers at the time of her disappearance.
Bexley Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) tweeted: “A woman’s body was recovered from a lake near Bluewater Shopping Centre on Friday, December 30. While formal identification awaits, Taiwo Balogun’s family has been informed.”
Her death is being handled as “unexpected but not suspicious,” according to the Met Police, and it was allegedly discovered around 6.54 p.m. on Friday.
At order to determine whether anyone saw her or may have recorded dashcam photos, the police earlier released footage from a CCTV camera in the store where she was last saw.
The 53-year-old was also described as weak and possibly dangerous to herself by the police.
