According to a statement from the event’s organizers, Wonder X, the “Lagos loves Damini” concert, which included Grammy Award-winning musician Burna Boy, was a big success.
The Burna Boy group “took the busy mega metropolis by storm,” it said.
“Burna Boy, with a 30-man band, guided the over 30,000 Lagos audience through an eclectic set that drove the fans to a frenzy making them forget the initial technical problems that led to a late start,” according to the report.
The message from the organizers included an apology for the show’s delayed start due to technical difficulties.
“We understand the frustration the fans must have felt for the unusual delay and do sincerely apologise even as we express our commitment to providing only the best and timely experiences for subsequent events.
“We like to send special thanks to Burna Boy and his team for showing stupendous professionalism in the midst of the confusion,” the statement said.
The Wonder X crew also wants to express their gratitude to the over 30,000 supporters who came out to demonstrate their unwavering support for their hero and who, despite the lengthy wait, retained the faith to ultimately see an incredible musical performance.
Over 30,000 people attended the Lagos Love Damini event, and a car lot with 11,000 vehicles was a record.
The performance was described as being the biggest and most well-attended musical event in recent memory because of the congested traffic on the nearby Ahmadu Bello, Akin Adesola, and Adetokunbo Ademola Streets, according to the statement.
According to the reports, audience members had griped about the musician’s tardy arrival during the New Year’s Day performance.
