Nigeria Minimize Foreign Portfolio Deficit By N14.5bn
The Nigerian foreign portfolio deficit decreased by N14.5 billion during the first eight months of 2021 and the first eight months of 2022.
According to Nigerian Exchange Limited statistics, the deficit dropped from N15 billion in the first eight months of 2021 to N1.43 billion between January and August 2022. The deficit is the difference between the country’s foreign portfolio outflows and inflows.

The Federal Government has decided to end the Presidential Amnesty Program in May 2023.
The National Security Adviser’s office has instructed Major General Barry Ndiomu (ret.), the Interim Administrator of the Amnesty Programme, to begin the process of winding down the program.
NDLEA Arrests Ex-footballer For Cocaine Trafficking
The NDLEA has arrested an ex-footballer, Emmanuel Okafor, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja for cocaine trafficking.
Its Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Mr Femi Babafemi stated on Sunday in Abuja that Okafor was arrested on arrival from Sao Paulo, Brazil via Addis Ababa.

President Muhammadu Buhari is slated to present the 2022 National Honours Award to his late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, and 436 others.

Indonesia Causes Dark Day In Football, FIFA President says
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the match at Indonesia’s Kanjuruhan Stadium as “a terrible day for football.” The 174-person stampede erupted when police fired tear gas into the air to disperse enraged fans who crowded the ground after Persebaya Surabaya beat Arema FC in East Java on Saturday.
According to East Java Police Chief Nico Afinta, over 300 people were injured and sent to local hospitals, but some died on the way.
