Court Refuses To Disqualify Obi, Tinubu From 2023 Election Contest
A Federal High Court in Abuja has declined to disqualify Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu, presidential candidates of the Labour Party and the All Progressives Congress (APC), respectively, from the 2023 presidential election.
The court, in a judgement delivered by Justice Donatus Okorowo, held that a suit the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lodged against the two presidential candidates, lacked merit and deserved to be dismissed.
The PDP had approached the court, accusing both Obi and Tinubu of acting in breach of the Electoral Act.

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO), has accused Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, of lacking originality in his interview with the CNN.
Niyi Akinsiju, BMO chairman who made the accusation in a statement, said Obi’s interview showed that he is not in tune with what is happening in a country he is aspiring to lead.

Like many Nigerians, we listened to the twice-postponed pre-recorded CNN interview, and we were stunned that a man that had been pontificating about Nigeria’s problems lacks originality when it comes to proferring solution.

Former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has advised Christians against wasting their votes on the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023 over its Muslim-muslim presidential ticket.
Dogara said the adoption Muslim-Muslim ticket by the APC for the 2023 presidential election is a fruitless political effort that has been doomed to end in spectacular failure.

PDP Crisis: Wike’s Group Pulls Out Of Atiku’s Campaign
Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, and his camp have pulled out of the campaign council of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate.
Rising from their stormy meeting in Port Harcourt, members of the team vowed not to partake in Atiku’s campaign activities pending the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
Members of the group said none of them will participate in whatever capacity in the campaign council unless the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, resigns for a southern candidate.

Leaving PDP Will Be Tantamount To Political Suicide, Dele Momodu Tells Wike
Journalist and politician, Dele Momodu, has noted that it would amount to political suicide for Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, and his allies to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
Momodu, a former presidential hopeful with the PDP spoke in a chat with Arise TV.
The PDP has been in turmoil since May when Atiku Abubakar was elected as the presidential candidate of the party.
2023 Election: Atiku Snubs Wike’s Group, Begins Campaign Next Week
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has finalised plans to inaugurate its presidential campaign council on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, regardless of the withdrawal of some party heavyweights and prominent campaign council members led by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The party revealed that all its programmes would be scheduled, adding that it had no plan to suspend them for any reason.
The party made this position known after a series of meetings by its leadership, following the pullout of the Wike-led group.
2023: APC Unveils 422-Member Presidential Campaign Council
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) unveiled its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), with President Muhammadu Buhari as chairman and Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong, director-general.
The party also appointed Tinubu as Deputy Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, its national chairman as Deputy Chairman (2) and Kashim Shettima, its vice-presidential candidate as Vice Chairman of the council.
Adams Oshiomhole, a former chairman of the APC was also appointed as deputy director-general (Operations), Hadiza Bala Usman, a former managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) – deputy director-general (Admin), while Hon. James Faleke will serve as the secretary to the council.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has accused the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyorchia Ayu of corruption.
Gov Wike who spoke on a live TV interview in Port Harcourt accused the Ayu of collecting N1 billion from party members in Lagos.

2023 Election: The Economist Of London Predicts Victory For Tinubu
The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), an intelligence unit of The Economist of London, has predicted victory for Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election.
EIU made the prediction in a new country report, according to Business Day report.
The United Kingdom-based platform said the controversy of the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket will not affect Tinubu’s chances in the elections.
In the past few weeks, controversy has trailed the decision of the APC and Tinubu to settle for Kashim Shettima, former governor of Borno, who is a Muslim, as vice-presidential candidate.
Tinubu Campaign Attacks Adebanjo Over Support For Peter Obi
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, the campaign council of Bola Tinubu, has berated Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Afenifere leader for declaring support for Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
The council accused the elder statesman of attempting to turn the pan-Yoruba sociocultural association into his personal estate and using the same to canvass support for Obi.
Director, Media and Publicity of the council, Mr Bayo Onanuga in a statement titled “Our Reaction to Baba Ayo Adebanjo and his new Ohanifere Venture,” said “Papa Adebanjo does not speak for Afenifere.”
Tinubu Didn’t Offer Me Senatorial Ticket, It’s Fake News – Wike
Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has denied reports stating that Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, offered him the party’s senatorial ticket after the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary.
Kelvin Ebiri, special assistant to Governor Wike on media, in a statement made available to newsmen and tweeted by Wike’s official Twitter handle, described the news, which was published in several online newspapers as “false, baseless and ludicrous.”
The statement reads in part:
Our attention has been drawn to a misleading report in some national dailies and online newspapers, particularly, Sahara Reporters that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, offered the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, senatorial ticket to defect the APC.
