Kenyan Authorities Freeze Flutterwave Assets Over Corrupt Practices
Kenyan authorities have frozen financial assets of Flutterwave after filing criminal charges against the pan-African payment solutions firm.
The firm was accused of conducting suspicious transactions and failing to comply with financial regulations in Kenya, The Star in Nairobi reported, adding that Flutterwave was one of about seven firms ensnared in an indictment that came down on Wednesday.
Amongst the businesses caught in the probe, Flutterwave appeared the largest and it alone had its accounts frozen to the tune of $56.7 million (6.7 billion Kenyan shillings) by the country’s Asset Recovery Agency, The Star said.
Kuje Prison Attack: US, UK, Send Warnings To Citizens In Nigeria
The United States Embassy has warned its citizens in Nigeria against travelling on the airport road in Abuja.
The warning came after suspected terrorists attacked Kuje prison and freed inmates on Tuesday.
Also, United Kingdom citizens were warned to be cautious of travelling to 19 states in Nigeria.
Kuje Prison Attack: NCoS Dispels Rumours Of Abba Kyari’s Disappearance
The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) says Abba Kyari, suspended deputy commissioner of Police, is still in custody.
Kyari, who is currently under investigation for alleged drug trafficking, had been sent to Kuje prison.
