Ekiti Decides: APC Woman Leader Expresses Confidence Over Party’s Victory, Urges Mass Voting
Ahead of the June 18, 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zonal Woman Leader for Southwest, Mrs Yetunde Adesanya, has urged Ekiti women to ensure the ruling party sweeps to victory on Saturday.
Mrs Adesanya made the call when women from different Local Government Areas and support groups came out in their numbers at a grand rally in Ado Ekiti, the State capital.
Speaking at the event held at the Ado Ekiti Pavillion, Mrs Adesanya, who was named in the party’s 76 new National Working Committee (NWC) in March this year, thanked the women of Ekiti State for their support, just as she expressed confidence that the APC will have the last laugh at the end of the voting exercise.
Tinubu Submits Katsina Politician’s Name As Running Mate
All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has submitted the name of Alhaji Kabir Ibrahim Masari as his running mate for the 2023 Presidential election.
Sources confirmed that Tinubu submitted his name as a placeholder ahead of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline for parties to submit the names of their candidates for the 2023 elections.
The running mate of the APC Presidential Candidate hails from Masari, a village in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Crisis Rocks APC As Aggrieved Candidates Stage Protest
Protest rocked the national secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, over the alleged substitution of candidates ahead of Friday’s deadline for the submission of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Aggrieved candidates from Kogi, Enugu, Abia and Imo states besieged the party secretariat to register their anger with the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee (NWC) over the development.
Armed security personnel hurriedly ferried Adamu away from the party secretariat to avoid a sad experience in the hands of aggrieved candidates and their supporters.
I Will Beat Tinubu, Atiku In A Free And Fair Election – Kwakwanso
Former governor of Kano State and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has ruled out the possibility of stepping down for any other candidate, noting that neither Atiku Abubakar nor Bola Tinubu can defeat him in 2023 if the election is free and fair.
Kwankwaso said his Kwankwasiya movement is very popular and will even win in the North-Eastern region, the region of Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the PDP.
The former Kano governor who spoke in an interview with the Punch, noted that the signing of the electoral act into law is a good development as it would reduce electoral malpractice and work in his favour.

Former Vice President and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has chosen Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta as his running mate ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Okowa was chosen from the ranks of serving governors and credentialed politicians in the South-East and South-South regions.
The Delta Governor was made the ultimate nominee after a fierce contest with Governor Nyesom Wike of Delta. The choice was believed to be in the best interest of the party as it seeks a return to power next year.
