President Muhammadu Buhari has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo, of diabolically double-crossing Bisi Akande and costing the second term aspiration of the All Progressives Congress chieftain as Governor of Osun State.
President Buhari on Thursday at the public presentation of the autobiography of Akande, titled: “My Participations,” in Lagos State claimed that Obasanjo’s diabolical acts ended Akande’s governorship aspiration.
According to Buhari, the only governor who was not affected by the plan of the former President was Bola Tinubu, who was the governor of Lagos State at the time.

He said:
It is common knowledge that Akande was the victim, along with other AD Governors, of a diabolical double-cross which ended his gubernatorial career. Only the steadfast Asiwaju Bola Tinubu escaped the electoral massacre masterminded by President Obasanjo.
Desperately disappointed though he was, and being a good Muslim, he accepted this setback as part of the trials of life. He looked to the future of service to the country.
Meanwhile, Akande, while speaking at the event, said he does not envy the position of President Muhammadu Buhari as the leader of Nigeria.
Akande, who observed rightly that many things are wrong with the country, said the people blame the President for everything even when it is obvious not all are his fault.
The elder statesman added, however, that such is to be expected of anyone who is a leader because the buck starts and ends on the leader’s table.
