Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo has advocated a national outpour of prayers in view of the present challenges bedeviling the nation.
He made the call in Jos, Plateau State at the National Conference and Retreat of the Catholic Women Organisation of Nigeria (CWON), with the theme “Let’s think with the heart of Mary.”
The Vice President represented by the Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen said societal ills such as moral laxity, rape, murder and kidnapping, among others, have greatly affected the socio-economic growth of the country and emphasised the importance of prayers in addressing the issues.

Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong represented by Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Danladi Atu submitted that the retreat will help to consolidate the efforts of the government regarding peace, stressing that peace was the cardinal pillar on which the state rests on.
President of the Catholic Women’s Organisation of Nigeria, Mrs. Mary Gonsum, said the choice of this year’s theme was to remind Christians of how Mary the mother of Jesus, carried her problems in total submission to the will of God.
