Senator Ifeanyi Ubah (YPP-Anambra) has signified interest in the Anambra governorship poll, the second time in seven years.
Ubah, who represents Anambra South in the 9th Senate, said this in a letter addressed to President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, and read at plenary.
He said his interest was hinged on revamping and consolidating the state’s credentials as the light of the nation.
He said:
In view of the above, I am humbly soliciting for your well wishes, prayers and support which will go a long way in making this noble vision a reality.
Ubah, 49, ran for the post in 2014, as candidate of Labour Party but lost to incumbent, Willie Obiano.

Meanwhile, earlier reports revealed that twenty-one billionaires are said to be backing Ifeanyi Ubah, for the governorship race.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed November 6 for the election.
Addressing a press conference, Nonso Collins Ndubuisi, coordinator of Project Ifeanyi Ubah 2021, said these billionaires behind the senator do not want to be identified.
Ndubuisi said they want to ensure that the state is taken away from “career politicians” who do not have capacity to lead, adding that he has been directed by the group to solicit support for Ubah across the state and ensure that he wins.
The coordinator said:
They mandated me to coordinate this group and to work in making sure that voters are galvanized across the 21 local government areas towards ensuring Ifeanyi Ubah wins the forthcoming Anambra election in November.
Ifeanyi Ubah is still the highest employer of labour after the Anambra state government.
He has about 25,000 employees working in his various companies, all in Anambra state. That Anambra State still features in Nigeria Premier League (NPL) today because we have an Ifeanyi Ubah.
When you check other candidates in various political parties, you will see that ifeanyi Ubah is miles ahead of them in managing human and material resources.
