The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Thursday extended the Orientation Camp registration date for the 2020 Batch B Stream II to January 25, 2021.
NYSC extended the date to allow all prospective Corps members to report and register at their various Orientation camps.
The scheme, however, warned that those who fail to register will not be allowed to revalidate with the 2021 Batch A Orientation course.
In a series of tweets signed by the management, NYSC wrote:
2020 BATCH ‘B’ STREAM II PCMs
All 2020 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) who are yet to report for the NYSC Orientation Course are hereby advised to report immediately at the Orientation Camps.
You are to note that those who fail to report for this Orientation Exercise will not be allowed to revalidate for 2021 Batch ‘A’ Orientation Course. Hence, to accommodate PCMs yet to report, camp registration has been extended to Monday 25th, January 2021.
You are therefore advised to leverage on this extension in your own interest. Wishing you all journey mercies to your respective Orientation Camps.
This development is coming about a week after the NYSC released postings for prospective 2020 Batch B Stream II Corp Members.
The disclosure which was done last Friday by Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, during a sensitisation webinar further urged those concerned to check the NYSC site to know the states they are deployed to.
Ibrahim stated:
I want to inform the prospective corps members that their postings have been released. They can go and check it right now.
The NYSC DG said that corps members would be allowed into approved camps nationwide starting from January 19, 2021 which is a day later than the January 18, 2021 that was earlier announced.
Some of the guidelines given to prospective corps members include:
- Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) should avoid travelling at night to the Orientation Camps
- PCMs travelling for distances ( North to South or vice versa) should break their trip into two stages and avoid making one long trip that stretches into the night.
- PCMs should be security conscious as they travel.
- There will be COVID-19 test before entry into the camps. Therefore, all PCMs should register at the NCDC website. The link to the NCDC website is on the NYSC dashboard.
