As the agitation for the complete ban of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad takes centre stage in Nigeria, popular Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, has announce that he is ready to lead a peaceful protest against constant police brutality in the country.
According to the Tesumole crooner, who made the announcement via his Twitter handle, corruption, injustice, war, and intimidation are threats to the peace of the nation, hence the need for a peaceful protest and revolution.
The controversial singer also gave details of the protest stating that the event would hold on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, with some police officers in attendance.
His tweet reads:
Protesting is never a disturbance of the peace. Corruption, injustice, war, and intimidation are disturbances of the peace, Peaceful protest, Peaceful revolution.
So on Tuesday, we got some SARS coming out with us. The ones that claim to only come out for big operations and not the dirty works on the road are coming out to show support and to answer some questions, we also got some police officers and soldiers joining the protest.
Don’t forget guys just in case you see any SARS or any forces there on Tuesday don’t start any fight. We are allowed to ask questions? But remember no fight, no vandalism. Peaceful protest. Thanks

Recall that the internet went abuzz recently after some men, alleged to be SARS Officers shot and killed a young Nigerian in Ughelli, Delta State, and made away with his vehicle.
Although the police in Delta State debunked claims that the deceased was shot by police officers, Nigerians are bent on ensuring that the unit is totally scrapped as they have been alleged to be responsible for harassing, intimidating, and in many cases, kill young innocent Nigerians.
