The incumbent governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary.
He will be the ruling party’s flag bearer for the October 10 governorship election in the state following the indirect primary election that held at the Dove Centre in Akure.
Governor Akeredolu won in all the local government areas of the state, defeating seven other aspirants.
Speaking earlier, Governor Akeredolu told journalists that God would make all plans for him to be victorious at the end of the poll.
Asked if he had any complaints about the primary, he said he had none.
He said:
I never wanted to be involved in all the complaints because I know that a farmer goes to farm with implements. The farmer only complains when he is not ready.
In the APC, we know those who have been delegates over the years since APC came to be. We all know who the delegates are. I know the God I serve, He will do me well and all plans will fall in place.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the primary committee, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, noted that 3,016 voters were accredited while 33 votes were declared invalid.
Bello, who maintained that 12 aspirants contested for the ticket, explained that Chief Olusola Oke polled 262 votes.

Other contestants were Ife Oyedele (one), Nathaniel Adojutelegan (four), Jimi Odimayo (nill), Isaac Kekemeke(19), Jumoke Anifowose (two), Olusegun Abraham(nil), Olayide Adelami (four votes), Awodeyi Akinsehinwa (one) Sola Iji (9) and Bukola Adetula (nil).
In the meantime, Governor Akeredolu urged his co-contestants to partner with one another to strengthen the party.
The governor promised that he would start the process of reconciliation among aggrieved members of the party.
According to reports, only Akeredolu, Sola Iji, Isaacs Kekemeke, Olusola Oke, Nathaniel Adojutelegan and Olayide Adelami were the only aspirants present at the venue of the primary.
