President Muhammadu Buhari, while speaking about the development, stated:
Let me on behalf of myself and my family convey to you my deepest sympathy for the loss of Mutari Dauda.
Death is inevitable and every soul must taste death one day.
What we owe the dead are not tears, because our tears can’t bring them back, but what they deserve are our prayers.
In this regard, my heart and prayers go out to all the family members and the Daura community as a whole over this irreparable loss.
May Allah forgive his gentle soul and reward his goods deeds with aljanna. Amin.
The demise of President Buhari’s nephew is coming about two weeks after the Presidency announced the death of one of President Muhammadu Buhari’s bodyguards, Lawal Mato, a warrant officer.
Mato’s death also came days after the death of Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Buhari, who died of COVID-19 complications.
Kyari’s death came as a big blow to the presidency as he, until his demise, was described as an instrumental figure in the President Buhari-led administration
The news of the latest development has since seen the president and his family receiving another wave of condolences after the death of Kyari and Mato, respectively.
Until his death, the late Mutari was the younger brother of 81-year-old Malam Mamman Daura; an uncle of the president.
